Choreographer, dancer and pedagogue resident in Barcelona with more than 14 years of professional experience.

She currently direct her own company under her name, Laia Santanach.

 

She has created the solo Bailando Bailábamos presented at 2016 and still on tour and in 2017 she presented Réplica, with a short version premiere at the Mercat de les Flors.

 

In 2019 she premiered her latest creation ÀER, currently on tour.

She is currently immersed in her new creation TRADERE.

​

She has presented group video dance creations like 1714 or Now for Cobosmika Seed's.

​

In collaboration with other choreographers she has created 's'he' together with Roser Tutusaus or Vaivé with Miquel Barcelona.

 

As a assistance, she has choreographed part of Móbilus of the visual theater company Addaura, finalist of the MAX 2016 and HIRAETH awards together with the audiovisual artist Ignasi Castañé for Cobosmika Seed 's, 2019.

 

Sh has assisted the choreography of several circus companies such as Du'K'To with its latest show Cafuné, directed by Pau Portabella and with the same director, E'go de la cía. Dikothomia with a prize for the best street show in Umore Azoka Leioa.

Also the assistance of the show LEK of the company Siu'giu 'Circus and Via Via of the company Circooltura.

 

Winner of several awards such as Premio Delfí Colomé 2018 for ÀER, candidate of the MAX awards as best choreography for AER and finalist of the Dansacat awards in the category of sound space for AER. Prize of support to the creation for NOW within the festival Mit s 2017, Tanzhaus Zürich residence prize the Choreographic Contest of Madrid 2019 for Vaivén and finalist of the Prizes Institut del Teatre 2017 for Replica.

 

 

In 2016 she created the Festival Menorca en Danza, resident in the town of St.Lluís, which she continues to co-direct. www.menorcaendansa.com  

 

As a dancer she has worked with several companies since 2006 such as Plan B Danza (Arantxa Sagardoy and Alfredo Bravo), Transit Danza (Maria Rovira), Gelabert-Azzopardi, Vero Cendoya, La petita Malumaluga, Pepe Hevia Danza, Idan Sharabi, Elephant in the Black Box (Madrid), Teresa Nieto en compañia (Madrid) and with stage directors with Àlex Rigola (Teatro Stabile del Veneto), Carmen Portacelli, La Fura del Baus and Comediants among others.

 

As a teacher she has given classes and workshops to Área, ESDM, Rogelio Rivel Circus School, nunArt, Menorca en Dansa , Descalzhina (Madrid), HaatikDantzaCompagnia ( Donostia) Cobosmika Seed s, Dass project (St. Petersburg) and doing teaching support tasks during 6 years in the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona.

Currently she is a teacher in the dance and creation classroom of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
